Collaboration Goals
- Identify key scientific information and research needs relevant to Bahamian flats fisheries and ecosystems.
- Encourage fisheries scientists and managers to conduct new research, education, and outreach programs.
- Develop, implement, and work together to find funding for joint projects.
- Develop tools to communicate relevant scientific information to decision makers and the public.
- Develop and market strategic proposals for funding from individuals, private foundations, government agencies, and other sources to support this collaborative work.
- Organize meetings, workshops, and other events for scientists, non-governmental organizations, resources managers, and policy makers to develop plans and policy considerations for fisheries resource conservation efforts.
How you can help:
Choose lodges and guides that participate in the BFFA.
When you fill out Bahamas Tourism questionnaires, ask them to fund and support the BFFA.
If the lodge you frequent is not a BFFA participant, suggest that they join.
Help to fund the work of the BFFA.
